ufo_josh asked: I am looking to set up a secure website offering people with Technical Specialities (e.g. Networking, Programming, Website design etc.) to search jobs placed by those in need of the work being done.
The website will ideally have an optional escrow service which will allow the Techie to complete the work whilst knowing they will get paid (if it meets correct standards) and they buyer can place funds into an account knowing that if the work is not satisfactory there is no bill to pay.
I was just wandering what kind of legal requirements, regulations and procedures there were associated with this type of service…
Any help or advice would be brilliant…
Thanks!
Im in the UK by the way….i’m guessing the laws are different depending on the country you trade/live in.

rnemtp asked: I’ve signed the contract. The bank told me my monthly payments. The lender/underwriters have backed out b/c the appraisal was high! What legal obligations are involved since I’m right on my end and the contract was signed saying that the bank is going to get the loan. I’m in limbo now with nothing to making payments to except outrageous payments of interest on a construction loan? Isn’t there something that can be done to push things along?

Mike asked: A friend and I want to go backpacking in Wisconsin, leave-no-trace camping along the way, and we need to know if it’ll be legal. We’re both sixteen, and have extensive wilderness and first-aid training, more so than the average adult. Is it legal to camp without an adult at age sixteen? Or is it eighteen? Please only tell me if you’re 100% sure. If you just think it’s eighteen and don’t think I should go, fine, but I need the actual law. Thanks.

RUFAUXREAL asked: A company hung some expensive heat repellant screens on my home but the screens are not pulled tight enough - they have ripples in them, like they’re wavy. They can be tightened but they won’t return my calls. What legal steps do I take to force them to fix this mess? I’d rather use my attorney, if that’s reasonable.

superduke85 asked: Basically it is totally legal to protect your life and property with the gun. If some lunatic throws something at you targeting the fur coat, is it legal to shoot back.
Thing is if someone throws something at you, how do you know what is it? Is it deadly? It is normal reaction to protect yourself.

Susie asked: A woman aged 24 is willing to give your paper information that might be useful in a feature on juries being reluctant to convict on rape charges. She tells how she was raped while in her teens by her sister’s partner and her ordeal in going to crown court and seeing him acquitted. She has no objections to being identified.
Explain the legal position in reporting this story.
