I like to paint logos, but I try to combine 2 different common logos into one logo that looks familiar, but is not an exact duplicate of either. My question is, is it legal to sell my artwork, or am I going to have problems with Coca-Cola and McDonalds getting all bent out of shape if I morph thier logos together. My wife and I rent a house in Aurora, CO, and there are only a couple of garbage pickup options. The local company refuses to pick up our garbage because their records show that one of the previous tenants owes a balance. They offered to resume service if I paid off the outstanding balance (I did tell them which garbage can they could stick that offer into).

Any ideas? Legal remedies?
I should add that this debt was before my landlord owned this property.

I was about to make an online purchase when I noticed that the sales tax (for Texas) was being calculated after the merchant added the shipping cost. I was being taxed on the shipping and not just the goods. Is this legal in the state of Texas? If no one can answer, what state agency do I contact to find out.
