Weber asked: My friends’ landlord placed this in their lease while one was working in a restaurant. My friend no longer works in a restaurant. The landlord has now threatened to evict if they do not pay a lump sum in cash. It seems like shaky legal ground to me. Just looking for some legal opinions. Thanks.
The landlord has not received this for some time. There is no mention of a monetary suppliment in the addendum. They want a lump sum of $1500 for 4 months of food. I believe the landlord has had financial woes.

Is it customary for the lawyer to receive one-third of the monetary sale of the one partners’ half plus reimburse any out-of-pocket costs?

My landlord (occupant of the house) is about to write a lease for me. He seems trustworthy but I want to make sure that everything is cool before I sign it. I will view it but also want a lawyer to view it. How much does a lawyer charge for that kind of stuff? It’s a simple, standard, residential lease.

My fiance is considering becoming licensed to sell real estate. I am a first year law student. I have learned a little about real estate transactions and how they work. I understand the roles of both the broker and the attorney, but I’m wondering if my husband-to-be and I will be able to use our skills together to start our own business. Will I have to have a separate practice, or can the real estate lawyer be a part of the broker’s company?

I love Jesus asked:
My father passed away and left his house to me and my sister. Was exempted from paying property taxes because he was a disabled veteran. The problem is that we lost the will and the lawyer who wants the $ 2000 will change the legal document. We can 't allow that. The tax office has said that we would not have been billed for property taxes until they change the legal document and now the mortgage company wanted proof of payment of tax. The legal documents that the office would prefer to use them a lawyer, but that could make them ourselves. We just don 't know how.
