How does this lawyer thing work out? How do people get a lawyer? Are people assigned a lawyer?
Question Queen Y!A veteran asked:
I know I need a lawyer, but I’m poor. Lots of unfairness going on. @ least 3 or 4 different situations I have, & I need lawyers.

You can be appointed free council in a criminal trial but under no other situation. Cowardly Lyin’

If you’re charged with a crime, you can get a lawyer appointed at no cost if you’re indigent (poor).
If your legal problems are of a different nature, try Legal Services. dwh212

If the matters are civil, you hire a lawyer. Some cases may be treated as contingency - the lawyer takes his/her fees from the award. Other matters will only be handled ona flat fee or hourly billing basis. If you can’t afford a lawyer, you cannot bring your case - or at least you have no chance of winning - law is not DIY. Free legal services for civil matters are virtually non-existent. evilattorney
