So how much would a lawyer, having just graduated from law school, and working in their first practice earn?

Depends where they practice, what type of job they have and what they do.
Some lawyers earn as much as 100K first year; some lawyers earn as little as 25K first year. In my graduating class, there was 1 student who earned 135K in his first year of practice - he was doing mergers and acquisitions at an international firm. LC
