I want to become a lawyer. How many years do I go to school for?

If I wanted to be a lawyer how many years would it take undergraduate and graduate combined. Also what are some good law schools. Not only Ivy League schools either all good law schools. Thank You!

It will take you about four years to earn an undergraduate degree and about 2 more years if you go full-time to earn your Juris Doctorate (law degree). Some people work while they do their JD, in which case it might take you 3 or 4 years.

That said, think about your undergraduate school now, and worry about the law school later. In four years you may find some other passion besides law. Check out a liberal arts college like Rhodes where we have all kinds of academics you can try and where our seniors have a 95% acceptance rate to law school if you do end up going that route. Jay
