I think either or both of them would need to recuse themselves from any potential situation where their personal relationship would interfere with their professional duties. In other words where a personal conflict of interest would come up.

Also at least one may need to ask for a transfer to a different section or may even have to resign if ethically dubious situations cannot be avoided syliefrye

Nothing illegal but may or may not violate company policy. Many do not want couples working at same location. Akward for reasons you mentioned. Better if they can work at different location. sweet.caroline

Sure it's legal. But what you should be looking at is company policy or union contract. A lot of places will not allow spouses to work together (or often even date) if one supervises the other. Check with human resources. Oldlady

There is no law against it. This solely based off of company policy on whether or not it is allowed. Zach

Yes it is legal.

Some companies have a policy against married people working together. However, not all companies have this policy and are ok with married people working together.

Just because they are married does not mean the chain of command does not apply. MSAD

This depends on company policy. I personally think that the company should make the couple work different shifts or at different locations, but if there are no policies against it, than no it is not illegal. HAGAR!!!
