how can a lawyer that as recently graduated get into a top law firm????

They may have interned or held a summer job with the law firm so they know his/her dedication and skills. Or they may know someone working for the law firm who helped get their foot in the door. I worked for a law firm for 3 years and we had an intern who worked for us 3 days a week so when he graduated law school, he already knew the way our company worked and our owner hired him on even though we always had other people applying. Be advised that top law firms draw graduates of the top law schools. Interning of course helps, but graduating from Duke, Harvard, Yale, etc. helps tremendously. Steve D

Graduate from a top Ivy league school such as Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, etc… Then rank top 3 of your graduating class. If you have a famous mommy and/or daddy OR if they know people that will really get you in the door. Shane
