My grandson was arrested and charged with DWI in Clinton County NY. Is it necessary to hire a lawyer?
Can a lawyer reduce the charge / jail sentence? This is his first time offense - just messed up - really good kid.

Je moet je een advocaat. Mijn zoon moest naar het weekend gevangenis omdat hij had een slechte advocaat pissen. Hij was jong en had geen andere overtredingen.

Ja, doe huur, maar voordat je dat je zou willen zijn up front en stomp met uw kleinzoon. Wij willen "weten" dat onze familieleden doen niets illegaal, maar soms is dat gewoon familie altijd te kijken naar hun kleinkind als die kleine jongen die kon geen kwaad. Ik hoop dat ik duidelijk was over mijn reactie. Good luck!

It’s not necessary but it’s advisable.
A lawyer might be able to get the charges reduced.
