Corey asked: I know someone who is on a lease but refuses to give up their key to the residence. They claim to still a resident of the domicile and will not pay rent or utilities but still insist that they are entitled to enter the residence. What is the legal way to fix this problem?
This person does not reside in the home any longer but for some reason feels entitled to maintain copies of the house key and mailbox key. Is this legal?
I am not the landlord but a co-applicant on the lease.

Silly Goose asked: I am planning on suing my landlord for my security deposit back. They claim bogus charges and took all $800 of it. Do I need a lawyer to sue them, are you allowed to have one?

Weber asked: My friends’ landlord placed this in their lease while one was working in a restaurant. My friend no longer works in a restaurant. The landlord has now threatened to evict if they do not pay a lump sum in cash. It seems like shaky legal ground to me. Just looking for some legal opinions. Thanks.
The landlord has not received this for some time. There is no mention of a monetary suppliment in the addendum. They want a lump sum of $1500 for 4 months of food. I believe the landlord has had financial woes.

radianceremnance asked:
My landlord (occupant of the house) is about to write a lease for me. He seems trustworthy but I want to make sure that everything is cool before I sign it. I will view it but also want a lawyer to view it. How much does a lawyer charge for that kind of stuff? It’s a simple, standard, residential lease.
