I am a small business owner and I’ve got a customer who refuses to pay for services rendered. The customer and I both signed a contract, so she was well aware of the price. She’s been delaying payment for several months, putting me under increasing financial strain.

I know lawyer’s fees probably vary by location, experience, etc.

But as a ballpark, what do you think I could expect to pay for a lawyer to write a letter to the customer on my behalf?
What kind of fees could I expect for a consultation?

How do you dispute lawyer fees if you believe you are being overcharged?

How are the legitimate rules/laws prohibiting a lawyer from overcharging his/her client? This seems to be a very big problem in American society and a lot of lawyers are overcharging their clients for small and insignificant services, such as giving their client(s) a phone number. Am I the only person here who thinks this is ridiculous? Please suggest something…anything!
