   A public defender is a lawyer that works for free. You get what you pay for.

   PAY THE MONEY IF YOU HAVE IT, niet zuinig zijn op dit punt. Ik heb gehoord horror verhalen over openbare verdedigers. Oh en wees niet vergis, je zal moeten betalen een nominale vergoeding voor het gebruik van het openbare verdediger.

   A public defender is a lawyer. Since everyone in this country is entitled to representation the courts will appoint one for you if you CANNOT afford one. That does not mean just because you do not feel like paying for one. Lastly to be appointed a public defender whatever charge you are facing must include jail time. So you do not get a public defender for speeding tickets and things like that.

    De advocaat zal je af met een kleine boete. De PD zal je af met het leven voor een vuurpeloton. De betere vraag zou zijn wat is het verschil in een PD en het verdedigen van jezelf? Antwoord: Niet veel.
