Where can I find a lawyer to hire to help my case with my medical discharge?

lawyer
consuela asked:

I am being medically discharged from the US Army and I have to go to Fort Houston to fight for more benefits for the injury that I suffered. Where can I find a lawyer that I can hire, a civilian one? Also, one that does not ask for money up front would be wonderful. Thank you.

You need to find an attorney around Ft. Houston, and one that is knowledgeable in the area of military medical injuries. Because the Army doctors have examined you and determined the extent to which you may receive any benefits, it may be difficult for a civilian attorney to prove their decision was not correct. There are lawyers who will take cases on a contingency basis, but they usually get 40% of the settlement, plus any costs. In this case, you will not be receiving a settlement, but a monthly stipend because of injuries, so it may be difficult to have an attorney take your case. rnwallace07
